Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for your men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age.

Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Venturing is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth, adult leaders, and organizations in their communities. Local community organizations establish a Venturing crew by matching their people and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. The result is a program of exciting and meaningful activities that helps youth pursue their special interest, to grow, to develop leadership skills, and to become good citizens.

Venture Crew 423 is involved with Native American Studies, and works in association with the Nanticoke Lenni-Lenape Tribe with headquarters in Bridgeton, NJ. The unit is actively involved in providing programs for area schools, and other Scout units. The Venture Crew also maintains a Native American village in the Estell Manor Park, Route 50, Estell Manor, NJ, providing a glimpse of how the first Americans lived in Atlantic County approximately 350 years ago.

Venture Crew 423 also performs as a southern style drum that goes by the name of Cuwe, Lenape for pine tree. The Pine Tree Singers currently utilize over forty songs and are able to accompany many powwow styles of dance.
