BUILDERS LEAGUE 5K NETS $6,000 FOR HABITAT

CHERRY HILL, NJ — A total of 215 runners hit the track around Cooper River Park on a brisk and bright April day, participating in the Builders League of South Jersey’s second annual “Run for the Sun” 5K Run. The group ranged in age from 9 to 78, with 123 men running and 91 women. $6000 in proceeds from the event will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Burlington County, Atlantic County and Metro Camden.

Top Male Finishers were Edward Callinan, Haddonfield (16:01), Rich Bostwick, Pitman (16:31) and Scott Rooney, Mantua (16:49). Joe Kopac of Haddonfield was the Top Male Master (18:19).

Leading the Female Finishers were Vanessa Wright, Collingswood (20:01), Jackie Oliver, Island Heights (20:13) and Andrea Pascocello, Haddonfield (21 :02). The Top Female Master was Carolyn Bujak of Palmyra (21:22)

A dozen or so youngsters participated in the Kids’ Sprints, each taking home a blue ribbon for their efforts. Music by disc jockey Scott Graser enlived the day, as did appearances by Finley, the mascot for the Camden RiverSharks, the Owens Corning Pink Panther mascot and Spot News from the Courier-Post.
