On
Saturday, March 24th we will have a
table (complimentary) at the Assumption Regional School’s Spring Craft Fair.
We hope to see you there. This is not only a great fundraising opportunity, but
also an opportunity for outreach. In addition to selling our goodies, the fund
raising committee will be offering copies of the current newsletter, and flyers
about upcoming events. We will also have a volunteer sign-up sheet.
On Saturday, April 21, 2001, Boscov’s Department Store will kick-off a month long campaign to promote and support our affiliate. We will have volunteers in the Garden Department who will be building a shed/playhouse that will be raffled off at a drawing to be held on Saturday, May 19th.
We
will have youth volunteers in the Garden Department who will be offering free
face-painting for kids. There will be a contest among the Boscov’s employees
who will all dress like construction workers. The winner will receive a Habitat
T-shirt, pin or cookbook. There will be donation boxes at each of the busiest
cash registers in the store throughout the month with all proceeds to benefit
our affiliate. On each of the Saturdays during the campaign, the Fund Raising
Committee will have volunteers staffing a table just outside of Boscov’s
entrance to the Shore Mall selling our Habitat goodies. Again, this is not only
a great fundraising opportunity, but also a great opportunity for outreach. We
will be offering copies of the current newsletter and flyers about upcoming

Silent
Auction 2001 will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at 6:00 p.m. at Ram’s
Head Inn. The silent auction committee has already had several meetings and are
busy planning for another successful event. The theme this year is “Take
Flight With Habitat.” A flyer/ticket reservation form and an auction item
donation/ad form are attached hereto. Please call the Habitat Office at 407-1775
and leave a message for Cheryl Bessey you would like to donate an item. This
will be the 8th annual auction event sponsored by the Atlantic City and County
Board of Realtors. We look forward to your support.
This
next item is not specifically our committee’s work, but we are in full swing
to support Debbie Hoffer and her golf outing group in organizing the 2001 Golf
Outing to be held on Sunday, July 15, 2001
at Mays Landing Country Club. There is a 12:30 p.m. registration time and 1:30
p.m. tee-time, with a BBQ dinner at 6:00 p.m. Additional details will follow.
